Imago was created to accomplish two things.
First and foremost, to provide effective and energizing tools that enable
organizations to do their work well. Ultimately, though, we exist to participate
in the creation of a stronger and more humane world. This is not “peace
and love” thinking. It is a response to knowing that as our world becomes
more interconnected, turbulent and unpredictable, we need new models for
how we relate with one another.
Sharing Resources
Any project needs three things: money, time and expertise. Imago gives
generously to programs that contribute to health, education, community
building and leadership development efforts both locally and worldwide.
Time matters, too, and Angela regularly volunteers her time on everything
from licking envelopes to sitting on the Board of Directors of the
Pride Foundation.
Finally, Imago has a sliding-scale payment structure for grassroots
non-profits, increasing the accessibility to much needed resources.
Collaboration
Whenever I read about a new humanitarian relief effort… it is always
a story of the power of conversation. Somewhere in the description of
how it all began is the phrase: “Some friends and I started talking…”
- Margaret Wheatley
Conversation is a powerful thing - that’s where it all begins. That’s
why Imago is wholly invested in giving back by collaborating with others
to strengthen what we know about social change, people and organizations.
We share what we know, and ask: What’s working? Where are there opportunities
to work together? What are the next steps? Imago is an active member of
professional and collaborative organizations such as the
Organization Development Network and the Impact
Alliance, a global capacity-building network.
Obviously, you gain much as a client of Imago from this wide network.
In the end, though, we believe that these networks are what will produce
new solutions to the many challenges we face as a world community.
