Angela Powell,
Principal and Founder

As a movement baby, my gift and passion for initiating and organizing effective change efforts showed early: in the third grade I instigated a school-wide anti-smoking campaign that empowered kids to support their parents in kicking the habit.

Fast forward to today.

After a substantive career working in nonprofit organizations, foundations, and community organizing – doing community outreach, professional training, budget management and HR, and everything in between – I launched Imago in 2002. I earned my MA in Coaching and Consulting in Organizations from Bastyr University, and am a skilled coach, facilitator and consultant. I am especially adept at supporting leaders and organizations to navigate the nuances of cultural difference and acculturation.

Since founding Imago, I’ve had the honor of working with forward-thinking leaders and organizations, with activities ranging from executive coaching and board and staff development, to strategic planning and research design. I am the Past Board President of the Pride Foundation and am core faculty with the Leadership Institute of Seattle/Saybrook University.

Credentials aside, people tell me I’m thoughtful, strategic and deeply creative. I live in Seattle with my partner, and our two cats Frida and Che.
